28 Weeks

Baby is the size of an eggplant.
  • She's starting to develop more fat, so her wrinkly skin will start to get smoother.
  • Her lungs are mature enough that she'd probably survive if she was born now. Wow!
WELCOME TO THE THIRD AND FINAL TRIMESTER!!!

I couldn't be happier to be one trimester closer to meeting my sweet baby girl.  She has been moving around very consistently now.  She makes her presence known morning, day, and night.  I love it!

We got our 3d/4d ultrasound done this week.  Take a peek!

This was such a fun experience.  We got to see her move around, smile, yawn, open her eyes, and wave her arms around.  The tech at ENLC got some awesome pictures of her and gave us about 2 dozen pictures to keep at the end.  A very fun ultrasound, even if it wasn't necessary to do.

Symptoms:  pain in lower back, sore ribs right under chest, sore pubic bone for a couple days, feeling tons of kicks, heartburn (but not as bad) work-related stress, tired feet if I am standing for a longer period of time, weight gain up to 26 lbs, hard to put my shoes on or bend over now

Appointments:  3d/4d ultrasound.  Next week I will have my last monthly check up before appointments every two weeks begin.

Not much else to report.  The nursery paint is still not complete.  Crib not together.  But we are sure collecting quite a pile of "stuff" in her room.  I can't wait to start organizing!

It was also this guy's 26th birthday this week.
Happy Birthday, Sweetie!

27 Weeks

Baby is the size of a rutabaga!  Not sure what that is...but it sounds big.
  • She's practicing inhaling and exhaling with her rapidly developing lungs.
  • It's official: Baby's showing brain activity! And her brain will keep on getting more complex.
Weight Gain:  25 lbs

Symptoms:  Heartburn, acid reflux, lower back aches (especially getting out of bed) tired

Sleeping is hard sometimes.  I get hot, then I have to go to the bathroom, then I can't get comfortable again, then I wake up with acid reflux.  Then, it's time to get up for work.  So yeah I've been a little more tired lately.

Nursery Progress:  We transitioned the office into an office/guest room so we could start on the nursery.  Then, we picked out a paint color and  painted.  Or should I say Matt painted?  I helped with the first coat and tried to help with the second coat, but I got kicked out of the room for being too bossy.  Apparently that is not helpful?  Not sure, but Matt finished up and after it dried, we realized we are definitely going to have to buy another can of paint due to poor coverage.  It's disappointing that we couldn't get it completely done in one weekend, but oh well.  Note to self:  do not buy Lowe's Valspar high-def paint in any vibrant color such as lime green.  It does not cover as much as it claims...

Matt also put the changing table and side table together.

Purchases:  Bassinet, nursing bra, crib, mattress

Gifts:

I got two cute outfits from my sis in the mail for my first Mother's Day.  So sweet of her to think of me as a Mom already!

Travel system from my parents!  So exciting!!

I think that's enough of an update for the week!
Basically, we are making good progress and I'm glad because I'm starting to slow down the bigger I get.

Thank you to Matt for working so hard this week at your job and for doing so much work on the nursery last weekend.  I love you!

26 Weeks

Baby is the size of a head of lettuce.
  • Her eyes are forming, and his eyes will soon start to open.
  • And her eyelashes are now grown, too.
  • She's getting her immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies.
Week 26.
Not too eventful really!
I have been feeling a lot more pregnancy symptoms.  The lovely list includes heartburn, acid reflux, back ache, big, heavy, tired, out of breath, and just uncomfortable in general.  I was really hoping these symptoms wouldn't start until much later, but I guess my body had other plans.  I know I will only feel more uncomfortable the further the pregnancy gets, but man!  Who knew tying my shoes would be a daunting task at 26 weeks pregnant?  Just focusing on the exciting things like my face being almost acne-free still and feeling the baby move around like crazy!  One of my friends from work even got to feel her kick this week, but Matt still hasn't felt a strong kick- just some trembles.

I bought some new maternity shirts and a new bra from Target this week.  I was getting so tired of my one maternity tank top, so I gave in and bought some new clothes.  I hated spending the money on it, but I know it will make me feel more comfortable than squeezing into my pre-pregnancy shirts.

I ordered the crib this week.  It should be delivered by next week!

We are painting the nursery this weekend!  I also worked more on my name project for above the crib.  The letters are up on the wall, but just need a few more details.

People are getting excited to celebrate the baby as a few people have been asking about and planning showers for me lately.  So thankful to have people in my life that are excited for this little one.

We have planned a trip to Illinois at the end of June.  Activities will include a small baby shower with family, getting maternity photos taken, and of course spending time with my sissy who will be stateside.

Here is the belly difference in ten weeks.  Starting to really stick out there!  I have been told I'm carrying  high, which I tend to agree.  She definitely likes to hang out about as high as my uterus goes, I'm pretty sure!

25 Weeks

Baby is the size of a cauliflower!

  • She's enjoying her new sense of equilibrium -- she now knows which way is up and which is down.
  • She's growing more fat and more hair too!

maternity clothes?

Well I am getting tired of my one pair of jeans and one maternity shirt so I think it's time to buy a few new clothing items to last me the next few hot months.

stretch marks?

Still nothing to show in this category

movement?

Feeling lots of movement! She is most active in the morning and night.  I feel some kicks throughout the day, but I can tell she is sleeping a lot, too.  Matt got to feel some "twitches" this week, but still not a big kick that he would qualify as "feeling the baby move".

food cravings?

  Popsicles

 weight gain?

21 pounds so far

anything making you queasy or sick?
Nothing!

what I miss?

Nothing!

nausea/vomiting?

None!

symptoms?

I am loving that my face has cleared up the past two weeks.
Heartburn is still hanging in there.  Some days are worse than others, but Tums usually help.
Feeling pretty good!

labor signs?

None thankfully

gender?

Girl!

belly button in or out?

Innie

wedding rings on or off?

On

sleep?

It's getting harder to feel comfortable when I lay down.  I can't say it's been keeping me up for more than the five minutes it takes me to fall asleep, but definitely not feeling as relaxing to lay down as it should.

what I'm looking forward to?
Working on some nursery projects.  Hope to share with you soon.
other updates?
I had my glucose test this week at CompuNet.  It worked out great because the office is right around the corner from my office so I drank my lovely orange drink at 6:45 while I was getting ready for work.  Then I went to the lab, signed in when they opened at 7:30, then had my blood drawn at 7:45.  Then off to work I went.  It was easy!  Hopefully no gestational diabetes for this mama.
 appointments?

No appointments again until May 28th for my next monthly visit.

As you can see, not a whole lot is happening right now.  I am so happy spring is here and we are finally getting some nice weather.  Our flower bed out front looks AWESOME and always makes me feel cheery when I look out there.  We had a cookout with our small group from church this week at our friend's new house.  I have still been taking lots of walks with my friend Brittany so I am thankful for her encouragement and motivation.
