New Design
Hi Friends!
Did you think you might have stumbled onto the wrong blog? Well you didn't! Hope you enjoy the new blog design. I am loving the personality it shows, especially with all the pictures. The only thing it is lacking is my favorite color, lime green. Maybe next time I update the design, I'll add a bit of neon but for now, I'm really diggin' the damask and pink. What do you think? Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Ahh...Valentine's Day. The day of love! One of my favorite days of the year. Growing up, my parents always got us candy and other little treats to enjoy. In high school, you could buy a carnation for your "valentine" and they would be delivered with a note during the last hour of the school day. It was always fun to get carnations, but it was even more fun to buy one for someone you knew would probably not receive any.
Basically right after high school, I met and fell in love with my hubby and he has made every Valentine's day special. Roses are always a must! One year, I woke up to find a surprise bouquet of yellow roses right outside my door. Another year, he gave me a (less) beautiful bouquet...but I found out later that he had been out purchasing my engagement ring to give to me in the near future, so that made up for it.
And this year...he hand delivered a dozen roses to work along with a "part 1" letter with half of the top ten things he loves about me. Part two was laying on the table when I got home...along with another dozen roses!!
So yeah, I'm a pretty big fan of Valentine's Day. I guess you could say that I'm in love with love. A real sucker for romance. On that note, it's time to watch The Bachelor. Happy Valentine's Day!

My Husband, the Designer
Did you know that my husband earned a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design? He picked up a few skills in all those classes (I hope...) but he really has a raw talent when it comes to design. I am so proud of him when he shows me a new creation. I'd say I have the drawing skills out of the two of us...
This is a picture of our Chipotle Halloween costumes from last year. I drew a hamburger and fries on some cardboard then colored and cut them out. Pretty skilled, huh?
But when it comes to creating an image on the computer, all I can do is airbrush some clouds on a blue background in Paint.
Wanna see some of Matt's work? Check out Elizabeth's New Life Center here. You can also check out the website for First Christian Church of Huber Heights here. He is the webmaster for the church and designed a lot of the logos you see on the home page.
Pretty much all that to say, my hubby is da bomb and he could whip out a website in about an hour if he had to. But he really likes to nit pick every detail (as a good designer should) and come up with multiple ideas to show the client so that he can really get a feel for what they're looking for.
If you need help designing a logo or website, let me know and I'll hook you up. I have connections. ;-)

Netflix
No complaining here! Watching shows online is (almost) commercial free, plus I can watch them on my own time. Oh yeah and it's free.
We do subscribe to Netflix, and it is worth the $10 a month to see unlimited movies and shows online and on dvd. Did you hear that they are planning to go completely online and just eliminate dvds all together within a year or two? That would be one amazing instant queue!
Ok, back to my shows! Later!

Saturday Morning Love
I love Saturday mornings! Cookie started whining to go outside at about 8:15, so he spoiled my perfect sleeping in morning. 8:15 is better than 6:30, so regardless, I still feel refreshed.
Last night was such a great end to the week. We went to one of my FAVORITE restaurants, Texas Roadhouse.
We tried going a couple Fridays ago, but the wait is always sooo long. I mean that lobby was stuffed with hungry people. To cut back on the wait time, we decided to "text in" our reservation as soon as I got off work last night. It texted me back with our wait time and our number to look for when we arrived. It was not exactly "on time" but we only ended up waiting about 20 minutes instead of an hour.
I had a delicious grilled chicken salad with made-from-scratch Ranch dressing. Matt had steak because he knows nothing else at a steakhouse. I take that back- he tried a burger once but left feeling like he missed out on the steakhouse experience.
After dinner, we watched Dinner for Schmucks.
I was pleasantly surprised, considering how disappointed everyone else was with it (two stars?? really???) I was laughing so hard! I'm a pretty big Steve Carell fan and he did not let me down on this one. I would love to meet him in real life. I could really use some new jokes.
Well, I'm gonna go fill up my coffee up and get caught up on some shows I missed throughout the week. Happy Weekend, Everyone!

Ice, Sleet, and Snow, oh my!
Walking around on an inch of ice is pretty fun. If you have ice skates on, like the kid I saw on the news tonight. But for the rest of us, it's not the most pleasurable experience. I am a horrible passenger in the car when it comes to this wonderful wintry mix, making it one of the only times I am grateful I am not a driver. We are expected to get sleet for the rest of the evening, then get hit with a couple inches of snow after that. Then, we get a few days of bitter cold and wind to top it all off. Can anyone say SPRING CAN'T COME FAST ENOUGH???
Wintry weather also means few patients come into the office. I think I counted a total of 26? patients today, which is way below our norm at ABC. A slow day is nice once in a while to get caught up on projects but I have to say that I am looking forward to the busy summer months.
On a different note, not at all related, I can't stop myself from looking at dogs on Craigslist. I know we only need one dog at this point, but I just keep thinking how fun it would be to have a playmate for Cookie. I mean look at this cutie!
I think my next post will be a dedication to Cookie. And I can promise you there will be some ridiculous pictures of mischief he has caused.
