Life Lately

Hey Guys!

Summer is coming to an end.  I work year round, and I don't have any kiddos to send back to school, but the thought of this beautiful summer filled with fun and hot sun is coming to an end makes me a little sad.  I know I haven't been posting much this summer, but I'd much rather be going for a walk, laying out on the hammock, or eating this fresh fruit instead of writing up a post.  Just being honest!

But here is a quick update on our lives as of late.

1.  MATT GOT A NEW JOB.

And this is how he felt about that after his first full week.

That's a lead tech in the making.  Markey's Rental and Staging is an event production company with their headquarters being located in Indianapolis.  You can check out their website here.  They have several office throughout Indiana and Ohio, and Matt is stationed in south Dayton.  Markey's rents out staging, sound, and lighting equipment for banquets, sporting events, fundraisers, etc etc. He is being trained as a lead technician, and he is greatly anticipating the day when he knows it ALL and gets to boss everyone around.  Matt works Monday through Friday 8-5, but he has yet to work a day with that few hours so far.  There are a lot of early mornings, late nights, and even occasional weekends where Matt's assistance will be needed, making for a lot of time for me to spend with this guy.

Daddy's not home???

2.  WE GOT A NEW CAR.

The ole 01 Hyundai Accent had seen its better days, so we are happy to say that we now have a car that looks and drives great.  It is a 2009 Pontiac Vibe.  Best features are sunroof, hatchback with ample space, four doors, good gas mileage, and rust-free.

3.  WE HAVE A NIECE.

Matt and I are now Uncle Matt and Aunt Amy.  Sounds weird, doesn't it?  Matt's oldest sister Mindy had her sweet baby girl on July 30.  We got to see her when she was just five days old.

Some fun times are coming up as Matt's two other sisters are due with their first babies these next couple months.  In the mean time, Matt and I will enjoying spoiling them...then giving them back.  :-)
